Stonewall to celebrate 48th Annual Peach JAMboree and Rodeo

     Come out to Stonewall, just minutes east of Fredericksburg on Hwy 290, for three days of wholesome fun for the annual Stonewall Peach JAMboree and Rodeo—Thursday, June 18 through Saturday, June 20.

 

What’s the latest at LBJ State & National Parks?
     Wildflowers blanket the grounds with color, and there’s a new baby bison and some baby longhorns to see.  Pool hours are from noon until 8:00 p.m. daily except on Mondays and Tuesdays when it’s closed.  The two-hour National Park Bus Tours for the LBJ Ranch, Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm and the Texas White House are available daily from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  Self-guided tours with loaned CD audio are still available.  The park is free, and no fishing license is required if fishing from the banks of the state park.  Treat Dad to a Rockbox Theater performance on Father’s Day

     All nine wineries making up the Wine Road 290 Fredericksburg Wine Trail stretching from Johnson City along Hwy 290 to just beyond Fredericksburg will present Vino al Pastor this Saturday, June 20 during regular winery hours.  Enjoy wine paired with shepherd-style meat.

395th Army Band to perform at the National Museum of the Pacific War
     Come hear the inspiring and patriotic sounds this Saturday, June 20 at 6:30 p.m. during a free concert by the 395th Army Band from Oklahoma City; while Jazz lovers will want to stop in for the free jazz concert on Sunday, June 21 at 1:00 p.m.—both on the grounds of the National Museum of the Pacific War (340 E. Main St) 

Waylon’s Birthday Bash this Sunday in Luckenbach

 Bats- and Wind Energy-related Presentation this Tuesday     The Friends of the Fredericksburg Nature Center will hold a presentation on Tuesday, June 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gillespie County Agricultural Extension Building at 95 Frederick Rd. in Fredericksburg. Luckenbach needs you for Guinness World Record       The City of Luckenbach wants area guitar players to help break the current Guinness World Record for the largest guitar ensemble – currently held by the Germans with 1803 players.  On August 23 at 2:00 p.m., with proceeds going to the Voices of a Grateful Nation Project which supports our military veterans, you can join other guitar players in Luckenbach for this Pickin’ for the Record challenge to help break that record by participating in one music jam session – go Texans!  This event is sponsored by Voices of a Grateful Nation, Kerrville Folk Festival, Luckenbach and Cheatham Street Warehouse.  Register by July 1 to participate – cost is $10. 
First Friday Art Walk Fredericksburg this Friday      Art lovers have the opportunity to enjoy extended hours until 8:00 p.m. during this month’s First Friday Art Walk Fredericksburg on Friday, June 5 as participating Fredericksburg fine art galleries share exhibits and special events throughout the day.  There’s no cost to attend.  The Visitor Information Center at 302 E.
