Becker Vineyards’ to host Rambling Rosé as part of NWWFF
On Saturday, August 15, the wine world will have its eyes turned to Becker Vineyards when San Antonio’s New World Wine & Food Festival (NWWFF) heads to this winery (located on Jenschke Lane off Hwy 290 E. in Stonewall) for the annual Rambling Rosé – with blind wine tastings at noon, 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. of five rosé wines. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served. Cost to attend this event is $20 for advance tickets or $25 at the door. It promises to be a very sophisticated event for wine connoisseurs. Rockbox Theater extends Summer Thursday show season with one more this Thursday!
The Thursday night show season has been extended for one more night this Thursday, August 6 at 8:00 p.m. at Rockbox Theater, located at 109 N. Llano in Fredericksburg. First Friday Art Walk Fredericksburg this Friday
Fredericksburg fine art galleries share exhibits and special events throughout the day. Fredericksburg Art Gallery, located at 314 E. Main St. will welcome oil painter and this month’s featured artist, Chuck Mauldin. The Visitor Information Center at 302 E. Austin St, has a list of participating galleries. Artisans at Rocky Hill will feature a trunk show featuring Austin jewelry designer Cynthia Bloom, beginning at noon at 234 W. Main. Wine and cheese will be served.
Asleep at the Wheel Concert in Luckenbach this Saturday
Head’s up: Grammy-winning band Asleep at the Wheel will be performing this Saturday, August 8 in Luckenbach at 8:00 p.m. Cost to attend this concert is $22 per person in advance and $25 at the door. Luckenbach, where everybody is somebody, is on RR 1376 just off Hwy 290 E. outside Fredericksburg.
Pari-Mutuel Horse Racing this weekend
The Gillespie County Fair Grounds on Hwy 16 S. in Fredericksburg will welcome the sounds screaming fans this Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, when Pari-Mutuel Horse Racing returns to Gillespie County, with special races and trials for the 2009 Gillespie County Fair Futurity. Cost is $5 for adults, $1 for children age 6 to 12, and free to children age 5 and younger.
Chamber Golf Tournament at Boot Ranch open to all registrants
