9-11 Patriot Day Program at National Museum of the Pacific War
On Friday, September 11 at 1:30 p.m., the National Museum of the Pacific War will honor those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attacks against America by holding a special Patriot Day program in the historic ballroom in the Admiral Nimitz portion of the museum at 340 E. Main St. in Fredericksburg – free with regular museum admission. The commemoration will include a special showing of the film, The Day the Towers Fell. The 6th Annual Boys & Girls Club Shopping Tournament is this Saturday, September 12. This golf-style event benefits the Boys & Girls Club of the Texas Hill Country. The day starts off with a Tea Off Breakfast, followed by a ‘round’ of shopping the unique stores along Fredericksburg’s Main Street – including 18 participating stores offering discounts to tournament players – and ends with the 19th Hole celebration at the historic Nimitz Ballroom. Wildscapes Workshop this Saturday at Fbg. United Methodist Church

The National Museum of the Pacific War’s Pacific Combat Zone at Austin and Elk streets in Fredericksburg will come alive as living history docents in authentic World War II uniforms recreate battle scenes on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13. Hear combat strategy sessions in the Pacific Theater or tour a recreated battlefield; docents will demonstrate training tactics and the use of an authentic flame thrower.
